Standards only work when they are lived

ISO standards, ITIL, COBIT and TOGAF can transform how an organisation runs, or become binders on a shelf. The difference is implementation.

Leaders discussing strategy in a meeting room

International frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 31000, ISO 22301, ITIL 4, COBIT 2019 and TOGAF bring order to complex organisations. They give leaders a shared language for quality, risk, resilience and governance.

Yet many organisations adopt a standard, pass an assessment and then watch practice drift away from policy. Documents exist, but behaviour hasn’t changed.

From paper to practice

We work with organisations not only to understand these standards but to implement them in real operating environments: training internal teams, embedding controls that last, and reaching genuine audit readiness.

  • Start from the organisation’s objectives, not from the standard’s clauses.
  • Design controls that fit existing processes wherever possible.
  • Train the people who operate the controls, not only the compliance team.
  • Review regularly, so the framework keeps pace with the organisation.
A standard is only as strong as the people who apply it every day.

Handled this way, frameworks stop being a compliance exercise and become a practical tool for better decisions, stronger governance and sustainable growth.
